Hello all,i'm a non-techie stuck with an AM200 with connectivity problems, dont know if the problem is with the ISP (etisalat UAE) or the AM200 adsl+ modem. At very frequent intervals, like every 24-36 hours, the DSL light goes off, or blinks. The Internet light goes off. After another 24 - 36 hours, everything is back on, the DSL light and the Internet light. When its down, i look into the modem setup 'status' screen, and it shows me that DSL is Down and below that, the ip addresses all show as 0.0.0.0 The modem is configured as PPPoA and i have called the ISP tech support numerous times. They run through the relevant settings with me over the phone and tell me that alls well and they are resetting the connection at their end, and 'Now it should be working', but its not!! I have not upgraded firmware on the AM200 ever since i bought it, could it be a firmware problem? Desperately need assistance.. Message Edited by OnnagokorO on 01:28 AM. I've recently purchased an AM200 as a replacement for the BT Home Hub. After receiving it, I directly swapped the (working) modem cable from the back of the Home Hub into the AM200 and configured it with the basic details from the hub. After this and several restarts, it still reports the ADSL line as 'down' on the status page. I know it's not down as if I swap the cable back into the hub it connects immediately. It's also a high speed/high quality modem cable so I know that's not the problem. Can anyone suggest anything that might get the AM200 working on my BT line? Posts in the BT forums suggest that others have this combination working. Is there maybe a different firmware that would make a difference? Hello i have a Cisco 2621 router with 2 Fast Ethernet. I want to use one of them to connect to AM200 and the other to connect to the switch (2950). I am trying to fix the rip protocol to work between the Cisco router and the Linksys modem but until now i have no luck. Cisco is transmitting the rip updates but the am seems not to do the same. Another problem i have is, even though i am not sure it can, that i can't find the option to change the rip protocol from version 1 to 2 in the AM200. Also when i enable the rip in the AM200 it asks for a static route too. What is the purpose of it since there is already an option where i want the rip updates to be transit to. As a last question i would like to learn if there is a way to ender the AM200 modem via telnet since it is refusing the connection and i seem not to be able to find the option in the web interface it has. Thanks in advance, Kostas, Greece. Hello i have a Cisco 2621 router with 2 Fast Ethernet. I want to use one of them to connect to AM200 and the other to connect to the switch (2950). Please can anyone help a novice to networks and tell me if the green DSL light on an AM200 modem or WAG200G gateway should always be lit up whenever it is connected to wall jack where a good ADSL signal is available. To put it another way could incorrect configuration of the router prevent the DSL light coming on in the presence of a good ADSL signal at the wall jack/filter. Having set up my friends redundant but brand new WAG200G in wired mode (and firmware upgrade to 1.01.04) I purchased the (wired) AM200 for my own use.
